I seem to be in a bit of an experimental phase so thought I would post another experiment. I converted the backlit bison in Nik Silver Efex. The color version was posted here: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...=backlit+bison

    Canon 7D2
    100-400 @ 400 mm
    1/1600
    f9.0
    ISO 400
HH from car, cropped for comp, converted in Silver Efex using control points.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Rachel

Hey Rachel congrats to your creative phase ......
If one is in that mood .... let it flow
    I love this !!!
Looks great to me in general , only thing i am not 100% with is the toning . For sure a matter of taste , so no big deal .
I can see a straight forward B/W conversion ... with the BG being darker to emphasize the rim lighting even more .

    Nice work ... TFS Andreas

Hi Rachel -- Good to see you posting the BW version and for me your RP is better than the OP . Nice rim lighting on the fur, giving it a distinct outline. Works for me .

    TFS !

Love it Rachel, I prefer the first post by far - just a hint of background and a few mozzies flying around.
