This was a bit of a grab shot in poor light so IQ not that great, had to brighten, crop off top and right, noise reduction to background.
Also the bird was too close for the 400mm lens so couldn't fit all of gull in.
This image one of a sequence of the bird trying to swallow the crab.

Thank you for looking and comments on previous posts.

That is an awesome prey item! I like the food flipping behaviour too. I'd trim a bit off the top if mine. 1/2000s., at ISO 400 is not poor light in my books, and I'm a bit surprised you had to deal with noise at that ISO?

    Great timing, Graham.
I would crop tighter on the bird and make it less obvious that the framing is not ideal.

Good shot, I can imagine the crab muscling that beak apart. Mutant ninja crab!

Thanks for comments, your correct Daniel the light was ok, but I under exposed by a 1 1/3 and that prompted me to clean background.

Hi Graham, love the striking reds of the beak and legs, and having underexposed has helped with the white detail. The crab meal takes this over the top.

Well you certainly managed this month's theme, and next month's theme in one image.

Fab looking image Graham I like the look of the gull attempting to control the crab. Love the winter plumage. I would also crop tighter.

    Good work

    Will
