Common Tern adult and young, from Nickerson Beach in early August. I've cropped this tight because I liked the little tufts on junior's head. Adult's full wing stretch is shown in the next pane.

Wonderful moment captured, Bill. Nice control of the harsh light and like that both parent and junior are kicking sand up. Beautiful dune habitat.

The wider view for me Bill. Lovely moment captured. Nice detail on the birds. Looks like the blacks are blocked on the adult tern's head. The vegetation along with the sand makes for a nice looking BG.
