Hi Sanjeev - Good that they are all looking at you. I think you needed a bit more dof and ss here. I presume the fp was on the one in the middle but they all look a little soft and the fur/hair a little muddled. My eye also keeps going to the part of the hippo in the bg. Not sure if it is the pp or the image capture. Sorry.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Sanjeev -- As Rachel the only thing working here is all of them looking and the river backdrop adds to the scene , but that hippo is a serious distraction . Light appears a bit harsh to me , you could have easily increased that iso for more dof in return .

I quite like it actually, I feel the lights handled well and the shadows have good details. Hippo doesn't bug me too much

Yeah I suppose a bit more DOF (Maybe f11) and the ISO 800-1000 may have been better. I would crop the dark layer off the bottom just leaving the reeds and no mud.

Sanjeev I thought the slightly OOF one on the left distracted from this image but the more I look I think it's ok,it's really good how they are all giving you there attention.

Nice composition with them all looking at you Sanjeev, but as Rachel has pointed out with that 500 prime I would have expected far greater fur detail on the middle WB, agree the cut hippo does draw the eye.

Lovely shot I would be tempted to apply a little more selective sharpening to the centrally positioned buck. I really like the light and colours.

    Hello Sanjeev,

I like this trio looking straight into your lens, wondering what you did to get their attention:)

Not sure about the hippo in the BG, I think its presence draws the viewer's eye from the main subject. Looking back you might wish you had more DOF as well as SS. Perhaps a curve adjustment on this handsome fellow in the middle would help him stand out more?

Lovely sighting Sanjeev. The more I look, the more I think a pano shape would work here. And although I do like the odd splash of colour in the BG, I find it also a bit distracting. I know, cloning is not quite acceptable nowadays and due to time constraints I did a rather rough job - I just wanted to illustrate what it would look like without distractions.

Really pleased you captured so many species during this trip and willing to share with us, appreciated:)

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Nice trio here and nice layering.
I find myself agreeing with Rachel here. Some extra sharpening on the middle buck would also help?
