Default Northern Pintail: Back to the Bosque

I'm headed back to Bosque del Apache this weekend for a private workshop with a client. It'll be my first time back this season, and I'm really looking forward to it! Reuniting with old friends at the Festival and freezing my butt off at the early morning fly-outs. Here's a shot from 2 years ago that I never processed until just now; a Northern Pintail drake photographed at the Bosque in November of 2014.

Doug, beautiful work as always. Love the background and how the Pintail really jumps out of the image.

Awesome shot. Pintails are the most wary of ducks here and getting one up close and personal is really challenging. Great light, bg, detail and focus.

Hi Doug, Beautiful shot, great pose, nice and sharp, love the creamy BG. Was just at the Bosque last weekend was awesome, FYI birds are a bit late this year from what a ranger was telling me more to be expected over the next few weeks, there was "only" 3k snow geese that arrived when they peek around 8k, decided not to go to the Festival with 100k people expected over the 5 days going to wait a bit when there's going to be less people. North lake was spectacular for sunrise and sunset! Good luck this weekend and Happy shooting!

Sits back, admires and smiles. About as perfect as it gets. Thank you for sharing, Doug.

I love the colors in this image, especially the BG that makes the bird pop. Nice down wing stoke, IQ and comp. Well done.

Great looking Pintail frame Doug!! The pose and the flight angle look real nice and that killer BG sets this one off beautifully. Love it.
