Haseeb this really does show that vastness of what you call a meadow and a massive great sky above,Lion just giving that touch of Africa, wonderful job.

Hi Haseeb - This does show the vastness of the mara and the relative smallness of the male lion. They do love to move in the road and tracks. This isn't really working for me because of the brightness of the sun and whites of the sky. They draw the eye too much. Also the lion is a bit too dark for me with the angle of shooting not really emphasizing the backlighting. This might have been one where you needed to shoot two exposures, one for the lion and one for the sky. Sorry.

Rachel

I like what you were trying to achieve here Haseeb, but echo Rachel's comment on needing a min of 2 exp. Personally I would have quickly set up a 3/5 bracket sequence with 1.0 stop increments. Granted the lion is moving slowly, but results could
still be achieved.
The blown sun really dominates here, but like the road leading the eye through the scene.

Thank you Rachel,Keith and Marc !
Yes definitely the sun is a distraction in this case but to be frank the idea of two exposures at that time never crossed my mind , can try if something can be done in the post processing .

Haseeb the vast expanse of africa rings through this image for me,agreed about the sun dominating sadly and the lion being a bit dark, I adore the track Hasseeb it makes one linger, but I'm unsure about the strength of those shadows in the right corner caused by it . Although they lead one's eye to the loin they sort of detract from his prescense for me.
cheers for sharing
take care

The blown sun is a shame here, because the rest of the scene with the leading lines and the dynamic clouds are superb. Might be worth another revisit in PP - granted the sun is what it is, but the suggestions here may help - it'd be well worth it from my perspective.

Hi Haseeb, can only echo Marc's thoughts on 'bracketing' it's the way to go, then blend in PP, very easily. I like the sky, but find it too processed personally. Watch the lens curve, you can correct this is PP.

Haseeb I can only echo what others have said about the sun, sky and bracketing.
I really only include the sun in my animalscapes if it's a tad lower and can be filtered through some foliage to give a starburst - better to perhaps let him walk past and get him walking into the depth with light from behind?

I love this image, you have captured Africa at its best....
If I was to be critical at all it would be to maybe have moved the Lion a little left and the road running into the bottom right hand corner....But this is from a guy who has no Idea about the Landscape style photography.
