All these images are created at nesting site in rainy season. These Oriental dwarf Kingfishers comes to Kokan Area for nesting, highest rains with plenty of food for their babies. You can take the pictures at the nesting period. Otherwise theses birds are always stays below the plants in shadow area and move like bullets, hence very very difficult to capture them. Nesting period is in between June to August.

    Basic editing. Cropped for composition.

Eye lighten. NR applied to BG. Darken the dragonfly.

Fantastic colours on this bird Satish ,the dragonfly makes a very good prey item with lots of detail in the wings, don't know what the multi coloured Bg is but it works very well for me and really complements the bird, very nice job .

What a fantastic pose and to have the dragonfly in it's beak is the icing on the cake. Nice perch and great looking BG colors. The main flaw in this image is the noise. The bird has quite a bit of it, even in the lighter areas. The 7Ds ISO performance is pretty noisy at ISO 800 and above and I know there isn't much you can do about it.
You might want to give up some DOF for a lower ISO setting. Even if the DOF is a little off it might be better than a noisy image. I see your SS is pretty low and I'm not sure if you are shooting off of a tripod but I would experiment with even lower speeds. With good technique you can HH at a pretty low speed.
Just some thoughts because you are getting in front of some awesome action and it's a shame that they are a bit noisy. Good luck buddy

love the prey and the colors, unfortunately the IQ isn't there, it looks like the critical focus was on the bill which has left the rest of the bird soft and a bit noisy. I agree with Dave, the gear you are using is really letting you down in this situation, I would explore using fill flash to be able to lower the ISO

Thank you every body for your kind feed back. Next year I will Carry the good tripod and also &D mark II. I have also used tripod here in this series, but it was not good, then I shifted to bean bag which has given me good images.

    Regards,
    Satish.
