Default Portrait of a young harrier

I was shooting with Dave Salem last year around this time, we had a very unique opportunity to photograph a handsome juvenile harrier that was very relaxed and friendly. I have many harrier frames, but fewer than 10 frames where the harrier is perched. It is extremely difficult to get these birds on a nice perch give the skittish nature so I was quite pleased with this frame

    hope you like it too

1DX 600II + 1.4X III. ISO 500. f/5.6 at 1/3200 sec. hand held from truck which was used as a blind. Processed with DPP 4.4

    hope you like it

Arash have seen a lot of these on the ground but to get a shot of one of these birds on a nice perch and a good BG is rare. What I like most is the texture of the breast feathers they look so soft and natural, excellent.

I think most of us would be pretty pleased with that shot Arash! Lovely colours and position in the frame.

Excellent image Arash. I like the pose, light, IQ, perch, BG, composition and spot of blood on the right foot adds to the image.

Quite rare indeed to get a cooperative Harrier posing for you. Congrats on that. Picture is about perfect for me. Pose, image quality, techs all top notch. So nice!!!

I have been shooting Harriers for years out here and ran across hundreds of them but this is the most cooperative one I have ever come across. Glad you were with me to capture these unique and beautiful frames. See ya soon
