    Default Super Moon in Michigan

Taken last night. The closest the moon has come to earth since 1948. Waited until a wisp of cloud passed in front of the moon, to give a bit more depth to the image.

    Nikon D500 Sigma 150-600 sport, Gitzo, 600mm, f/9 1/125 sec, self timer.

    Cheers

Love this one Randy and great idea to wait for the clouds to pass by...it adds so much more interest to the image! How do you like the D500? I am considering picking one up for myself.

    Andrew:

I have enjoyed the D500 a lot. ISO performance is not full frame level, but good, excellent focus performance, like the tilting screen a lot for low angle work. Haven't bothered to put a grip on it because battery life is adequate, and it is nice to have the smaller form factor. Plus the grip doesn't increase the fps. Have shot it a lot with the Sigma 150-600 sport, which is easily handheld for bird work.

    Cheers

This one came out really nicely!
The clouds add a lot. What was the ISO here Randy?

    Morkel:

ISO 200. Thanks for the comment. I should have probably pushed it up a bit to allow a bit more shutter speed. It is striking how fast the moon moves across the frame at that magnification.

    Cheers
