Yes very interesting Gio. I like the mono treatment it works well. I have slight reservations over the buffalo in the background, I think lifting the dark areas that would be in the region between the nose and boss of the horns would help. Th eye is clearly visible on one side, maybe just a hint on the other would help.

Hi Gio - I like the second buff walking into the scene. I do think that overall this image is a bit darker than your other images taken at the hide. I would like to see more of the reflection if possible. The b&w works.

Nicely seen Giovanni, love the mood here with good composition & B&W treatment, agree on some more detail on the 2nd buff would enhance this.

Very nicely done Giovanni! I too think you can dodge both buffalo for brighter whites and more tonal range.

Agree this needs more tonal range, it's just too flat in tone. Also I would have easily started at ISO6400 and if needed, gone further up to gain more SS & DoF, 3200 is too cautious for the 1DX.

Location has all the hallmarks of Zimanga???

SS (shutter speed) even on a tripod I would have wanted more, but I would have also used a cable release too. Shooting through glass is not ideal, but that is part of their hide set up.

If you Exposure correctly the noise will be easily dealt with within which ever RAW converter you use i.e. DPP, LR, ACR, all deal with it very easily and effectively and with the 1DX is really isn't a problem, but as I said, you need a good exposure in the first instance.

As Morkel said, brighter whites, but it's all about getting/having a good Tonal range from Black to White. If I was shooting this and knew i was going to convert to b/w, I would change the Picture style to B/W and use your best friend - the Histogram. In that way you can see more easily the range.
