    Hi All,

I took this image at Farmington bay, Utah. Although I would like to get a better head angle, I really liked the water droplets.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Nikon d500, 500mm f/4 + 1.7x TC
    ISO 1250, f/7.1, 1/3200

    Thanks

I think the color palette in this picture is very nice. I like the water drops as well. Agree about the head angle as it is not ideal. There are some things that I think you could do to have improved the final results. Critical focus seems to be on the body of the bird and not the head. As framed to me the bird is too tight in the frame. I would add canvas above and to the left. Also you reflection is kind of busy and not a clean reflection so I do not think it adds much to the frame. If mine I would crop out much of the reflection and add that space to the top. Whites on the neck look hot to me. Don't think you needed such a high shutter speed for a grebe on the water. Would have been better lowering the ISO to control your whites better.

Hi Krishna, a lovely subject to Photograph, and I wish I had more Grebe's in my files, although we dont get this actual species of Grebe in SA. Isaac hit all the main points, and just by using your mouse to scroll up from the bottom improves the overall feel to the image. I do like the colours of the BG.

good critique above, the HA is less than ideal with him facing away from us, the whites are a bit blown in the face and there is too much empty space below the bird. I'd put less space in the btm and more to the left where he is looking

Nice low capture, good background. I agree with Isaac's critique above. I actually don't mind the bird gazing into the distance; but the other issues are a detriment to the image.
