This Gadwall hen created quite a splash when she came in for a landing. From Cape May last week.

Great shot Bill. I love the IQ and the lighting here. Beautiful bg.

Love the shape of the water splash.
I would consider reducing the exposure by 1/3.
So nice that the water droplets did not interfere with the eye.

Thanks John and Gail. 1/3 seemed like too much for the bird and splash, so I've reduced the exposure on the overall image by 0.10, and then reduced exp. on just the bg/fg by another 0.25. Good idea; it does make it pop.

Perfect moment captured, Bill. Great splash and like the curl above the wake at far left. Grasses and their reflection enhance entire frame. Wonderful light and I like the adjustments in the repost. Well done.

Bill just personal preference but I very much like your original post, the repost does just look a little flat on my gear, well done getting the head almost clear of the water droplets.
