Just for a change this is not shot in glaring sunlight, just early morning. Still bright though as you can see from the settings.
Big question, do I remove the grass seed inflorescence center left?

    Oops it's a Buff-banded Rail.

Colin, what a nice looking rail, very sharp with great color.
Do these rails prefer grassy areas instead of wetlands?

Thanks Tim, yes they aren't a strictly wetland bird.

What a great bird. Good feeding pose, terrific colors and sharpness. Both sharpness and saturation are right on the edge of being overdone, at least on my screen, but make the bird really pop.

Thanks for the comments. Bill, that shot is pretty much straight out of the camera, certainly no color or saturation adjustments and very light sharpening for posting.

What a beautiful rail! Track sharp and vivid colors with a good head turn towards you. I also like the environment. Well done!
