This is one from my hide at the weekend. The perch is a dead tree near the middle of the loch, a fair distance away from the hide, hence the small in frame crop.

like the bird Will ..... but not keen on the tree, which I feel is just too dominant

To get a shot of a KF is always a prize, so very well done

    Hi William,
Nice focus on the bird which seems to be in hunting mode. The tree is a bit dominant as Bill states but the color of the bird provides a nice contrast and draws attention to it.

Lovely bird great exposure and detail. Agree about the tree moving your blind a few feet to the right would open it up.

Lovely bird in a typical KF pose. Agree on the tree and if the crop will stand it a horizontal frame would probably suit.

Hi Will, nice natural perch and makes a change from the mossy stick that are stuck in the ground. I'm sure that moving your hide to the right will only help build in nailing this shot. Love the web strands!!!

I would get a faster SS in place, push that ISO Will - it's a 1DX.

Hi Will, that's a cracking little Kingfisher nice and sharp with a good pose, perch can be a bit frustrating but it's what they choose to land on and we have no control over that except for set up's of course.I like the real natural scene, well done mate.
