    Default White-crowned sparrow

Early quiet morning in Bolsa Chica without a lot of shore birds activity.. the ever present sparrows became the main attraction for the day.

    Nikon D750 + Tamron 150-600, shot at 600mm, f/6.3 (wide open), 1/640, ISO 3200.

All good Adhika except for the missing feet.

I like the bird on the rocks. Makes for a nicely composed shot. Also like very much how it is cropped. I think your bird would benefit from a little more sharpening. Agree with Colin about the feet. Also think the shot has a bit of a blue cast to it. Is this a Gambells? We only get this supspecies as vagrants in the East.

Handsome fella (my favorite species of sparrow). I like the profile pose and the perch. Too bad it did not opt to perch at the very top of the rock, and although I'm sometimes OK with a dirty bill here I would have preferred a clean one (out of your control, I know).

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was hoping that he will hop to the top of that perch but nope. He just flew away.

Re: the blue cast, I have removed some blue in the image (HSL layer) but maybe it could use a little more.
