Default Black Vulture affection hign on the roost 1200mm

Canon 5DIV with 600II + 2xextender. Really took this shot to mess around with dual pixel shift but figured it also fit the theme. Converted in DPP -1pixel shift. ISO 1250,f8@2500sec. Not really crazy about the crop but most of the roost tree was just a mess and took too much away. Thanks for looking.Name: A98A5411.jpg

Good one, Joe. Nice interaction and pose. Lovely BG. I generally don't like a bird's eyes to be closed, but closing her eyes (or nictitating membrane?) for the kiss seems appropriate.

The pose is lovely and the variety of tones on the 'black' feathers is fascinating.

Great capture Joe. Nice moment you got here, I like the feather detail and BG colours. The facial expressions are priceless.

good shot Joe - "lovely" birds

they look a bit off balance .. do you need a clockwise adjustment? .. are they are falling over to the left a little or is it my old eyes

very nice interaction shot Joe, it's tough to make a nice image of a bird as ugly as a vulture :D but you succeeded with the interaction and the story. blacks look good from where I am sitting

Bill I think the rotation is spot on if you look at the leg lines of both birds one looks to be leaning left the other leaning right. The interaction of something so ugly seems to make it work the other part fitting irony is the tree they are on is a Paulownia or "Princess" tree a flowering beauty. Thanks for the comments and input.

Congratulations!, Joe. I thought I had commented on this excellent capture before. The light is exceptional for the quality in the black feathers and shadow areas. Wonderful interaction.
