Northern Shoveler Drake in Flight
Here's another duck from this past year's Ducks Unlimited workshop that I co-lead with Dave Salem. This breeding plumage Northern Shoveler looked stunning as it flew by us! The green on the wings is only visible from certain light angles, so I was happy that this bird's were on full display.

Hi Doug, another brilliant flight pose with the full down stroke of the wings. I agree that caught at the right angle, the light will bring out the colours so much better. Overall, well exposed, tack sharp, and a killer BG. Trailing droplets always adds to an image. Well captured.

You are truly the DIF master. Another perfect shot. Has me thinking where can I go to get a shot like this. In NY we only get close to these guys in the dead of winter when most of the ponds are frozen and they are forced to be up close to the edges. I echo what Stu said and literally thought killer background and then read his post and smiled. Love the head turn as well.

Fantastic looking frame of this beautiful Drake shoveler. The wing position doesn't get any better than this and the lit speculums add a ton to the image. That background really sets off the Drake beautifully and one of my favorite parts of the image is the nice clean whites you exposed and processed. Great work Doug and definitely looking forward to our Workshop this January
Come join me for a Custom Raptor Workshop starting this November 2019- January 2020.

Beautiful image Doug! It's all been said but it would be a shame to not acknowledge this perfect frame.
