This Little Egret was feeding in the margins and came almost too close for the 400mm lens.
    Thanks for looking

Graham you have some great clarity and the exposure of the bird looks very good, this is a very nice piece of photography.

Lovely capture. I really love the look on the eye, the concentration. Nice colours throughout. The splash adds so much. Well done

Great action pose and I love the splash of water. I really like the color of the water and the intensity of the stare. I do find the shot a tiny bit tight and would prefer a little more room around the bird. If mine I would clone out the 2 greenish reflections on the bottom of the frame. Those being by the reflection of the birds head and the one on the bottom right corner. I also feel like the bird has a blue color cast. Did you use Daylight White Balance? If so I would maybe use the NIK white neutralizer on the bird so get rid of the cast. Plenty of other ways to do that of course.

I like the action, splash and water color. Good call on adding some canvas. Isaac made some good suggestions. Very well done Graham!

Love this one. The water splash makes the image. I agree with removing the green OOF areas and maybe loosening the crop a little in front of the bird.

Yes, more room at the bottom and another vote for removing the greenish tint (white neutralizer). I love that water action!

I am late to the party but agree 100% with Isaac's critique.
I might consider going a bit brighter by 1/3 of a stop,

    Thank you for all comments.
Isaac, I had the white balance perfect in raw conversion but then messed up by pushing the vibrance slider in photoshop!
