    Default Firecrest

    Firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla)

A small plump bird that is 9 cm (3.5 in) in length and weights next to nothing, (less than one quarter of an ounce)

    D7100 + 300mm f4 AF-S
    1/1250th – f4 – ISO 400
    26% crop
    LR

    SW France - garden
we have a "concrete" area next to one of our barns
The bird just landed in front of me, ... so shooting down on the bird .......so apologises for the background + f4

But this is an interesting bird, not easy to see and find and they flit around quickly - I have seen just one bird for the past few years in the same area
    a favourite "snack" of Sparrowhawks

What a comical little bird! Love the crazy colors, particularly the orange feet. Great opportunistic shot.

HI Bill, keep coming back for another look at this smashing little bird which I like a lot but wonder about the colour which does look a bit saturated ,is this just out of the camera, that said not sure I trust my eyes or monitor.

Hi Bill, what a cute little bird, like the colors and pose as Colin said very comical, i'm not the one to comment on colors as you might know with my colorblindness but he does look at bit saturated but that could be just me, Still great job! TY for sharing.
