    Nice tranquil image Bill ,I do like the water,birds feathers going from grey to almost black look spot on especially with the water droplets.I noticed something different about this Coot to the ones I see,these Coots are a bit different to the Eurasian Coot with out the white plate above the beak .Thanks for showing this one.

    This image has a beautiful calm quality, Bill. If you hadn't mentioned where this was, it initially looked as if it was taken on a lake formed by glacial runoff. Nicely captured.

    That background is exquisite. And from your use, seems to be specifically suited for this bird. I've been working on American Coots lately in Albuquerque and will be using this as a standard. I especially like the dark grey body leading to the black neck and head. Thanks for putting this one up.
