    Default Blackpoll Warbler

A few days ago after a good friend spotted a Blackpoll near a local lake, I set out to see if it might still be around. Not only was she still there, but several more. It's not a timid bird, requiring me to move my gear back a few times to capture focus. This is a lifer for me. C&C welcome.

Removed some distracting branches in the BG in cs6.

I like the way the light fall on the bird against the darker background, and the pose. Good rustic perch too.

Geoffrey that dark bg makes this little bird stand out beautifully, that old looking perch also adds interest to the image, nice work.

That bird is new to me Geoffrey - I will have to look it up

your image shows what a delicate bird it is with good detail, capture of the colours and markings

    Well taken

(Amazing little birds - just read this on Wikipedia

"Using a tiny light level geolocator biologists have proven that the black poll flies an average of 2540 km (2270 to 2770 km) non-stop over an average of 62 h, up to 3 days, corresponding to about 41 km/h"

Great alert pose. Love the slightly open bill and the yellow feet. The bird really stands out well against the dark bg.
