    Default Grouse in the rain

Another shot of a Red Grouse from my recent trip to the Moors. Just a light bit of misty rain, nothing too dramatic, but it adds a little atmosphere at least.

Lovely pose and environment. Perhaps a little dodging of the shaded underparts would give it a lift.

Mike the bird stands out beautifully against that nice bg,lots of nice sharp detail and I also love the feathered feet on these birds, lovely pose to finish.

    Morning Mike

attractive bird - you can see why they get shot as they "stand and stare"

just a couple of comments - I'd try cloning the bg into the white OOF areas to the right of the birds tail - as I feel that removing this would help to silhouette the bird more and help with defining the perch

Pity we cannot see the feet fully as they are an attractive part of the bird

I love the IQ and the rain.
Just wish the right foot was visible.
I would crop up from the bottom to remove some of the OOF FG rock

Love the rain here. I wish the bird was on the top of the rock, but still nice. Well exposed and great IQ. Well done.

Lovely shot Mike, I would try lifting the darkest plumage a little. The colours are super and the pose/setting is excellent.

I like the pose, feather patterns, rain, HA and composition wise I would come up from the bottom. Well done Mike.

Lovely, lovely shot Mike! Great detail of the bird and perfect background. The rain adds to the mood of the picture, as well. Thanks for sharing!
