    something I really like about this one Steve, probably because it's the way I see
    herons perched as water levels change in my area.

    The reflected color on the surface is especially nice.,,,..the water isn't boring.
    Neither is that "red" eye.....looks good

    Love the moody feel of this image Steve. Its almost like the heron is contemplating life :)

    Subject placement is just about perfect.

    I like the simplicity of this one, Steve. The bird is very nice and the patterns in the water are interesting. The after-sunset light gives a moody feel to the image. I might be tempted to crop even more from the left to put the bird in a corner looking into the frame.
