As I said in Marc's post of the elephant, I experimented with some panning shots myself on my recent trip. They are quite addictive.

    Canon 5D3
    70-200 II @ 170mm
    1/30
    f9.5

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

HI Rachel -- This is one of the better panning shots that i have seen . Though it is slightly angled away from the sensor but not a deal breaker for me . Enjoyed viewing this image . Do post more panning shots if you have them with you .

    TFS !

A nice artistic and 'painterly' frame and it's nice to see something different. A bit of a shame he'd passed you, but given the type of shot, not as critical as a sharp portrait.

Lovely colours, and just enough detail in the main subject to work well.

This has worked out quite well, The details in the Wb are pretty good and the motion blur works well. The legs and hind quarters have a lot of Red/Orange. Looks like he is running a bit up hill. Have you thought of rotating slightly to level CW then it might work but I know you said this is full frame but it might be worth a look.

Thanks Haseeb, Mike, Dumay and Keith. I typically did these types of images as the animals ran from one side of the road to another. Some of the best images have the road in them but I wanted to post one that did not. Here the wildebeest was running up hill and the red/orange is the Kalahari dust. I took a look at leveling the hillside in the bg but it is too much of a crop for my taste, effecting IQ.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel
