This eagle was on a fallen tree in the estuary and we got the steersman in the skiff to back the engine off long enough to fire a few shots.

Outstanding image of this beauty, Mike. Like that you've gotten his attention for a wonderful pose. Beautiful streaky raindrops against this great BG. I might suggest removing the vertical pointed part of the tree under the eagle.

Very nice image Mike. Lovely pose and I like the detail and colours on the bird. The rain adds to the lovely coloured BG. Another vote for removing the tip of the tree.

Thank you all for your comments. I have attached a revised copy with the stump removed and it does look much cleaner

Holly ship. Awesome shot. Good understanding of the conditions to take the shot at 1/160 in order to capture the rain.

What a great look and unique eagle image. Love the background with the rain along with the direct stare and the Fantastic looking colors and details. It might be worth printing that one

The repost polishes it up beautifully, and the subdued look adds to the scene - excellent work.

I am late to the party but just wanted to add that I agree with all the above comments. This is a beautiful image with a wonderful color palette and the rain drops have that "perfect" look. Very well done!
