like the processing Bill ...... has almost a coal dust effect .. something different

looks like quite a lot of Euro, African birds, shape and features wise ...... but never seen one that colour

Very nice look back pose, Bill. Like how the perch color closely matches his. I'm noticing a cyan fringe around the bird, and portions of the branch, on my monitor.

Lovely detail and colour on the bird. I like the pose and HA. If mine, and if the detail holds, I would crop tighter and remove the vertical twigs on the LHS.

Think Wills idea would be worth a look if you are so minded Bill, those twigs do seem to unbalance a little bit and draws the eye away from the bird but do understand the part of it's habitat. The bird itself looks really good with that nice head turn and good detail.

Bill, nice image of the Phoebe, nice HA and details, here's Williams version without the crop, I hope you don't mind.

You sure got the light angle right on this one along with the exposure giving the bird beautiful details.
I like Tim's repost as it looks much cleaner and more balanced. Well done

Thank you all. Thanks for the repost, Tim. This was already a pretty large crop, so I don't know if any more cropping would be productive; but the pruning certainly helps.
