I took this last winter. It is a set-up with seeds used to attract the goldfinch.

I have no idea why I have such weird settings

I LOVE this shot Gail. Perfect set up. The perch is so interesting and I love the color of it as well. Bird is very sharp and crop is perfect for me as well. Background sets the whole thing off. Just lovely. Could I ask what is in the background? I love that grayish tone.

I like the shot. Agree with everything Isaac already said. Somedays I come home and can't understand my settings either. Even though I shoot in M all the time so I guess I can't blame the camera...LOL

Thanks for the comments. The BG is my neighbours grey/green house!

It is a beautiful image Gail. The composition, perch and BG really work well together. Catch light on the eye is a plus.

The whole image works so well, Gail. Great detail. How lucky you are to have the neighbors providing such good taste in avian backdrop colors.

Hi Gail, the thumbnail doesn't give this justice. As I opened this I thought Wow - really nice. Love the light, IQ, sharpness, and especially the splash of yellow on the Goldfinch against the colour of the BG.

Very nice setup frame Gail. The light angle was perfect and I really like the perch you chose. Nice clean details and beautiful subtle colors along with a sweet comp. Well done
Yes, your settings are weird. I can't get my 1DX and 600II to f5 with my 1.4 extender on no matter what I do. What's your secret
