    Default EYE-lephant ! (C)

Hello everyone ! Thank your for your comments on my previous post .

An elephant image from bandhavgarh , not a wild elephant ( it used to be wild but was captured and brought to Bandhavgarh from Jharkhand as this elephant entered a small town right from the jungles and wrecked havoc , hence it was captured and then trained and used by the Mahouts in the jungle ) Tried my hand at experimenting with some very tight close up's.

DPP 4 , CS6, levels, selective colour , selective sharpness and highlighted the eye selectively using brightness and contrast ( but it was done moderately ) .

ss : 1/1000 , f/10 , iso 6400 it was getting difficult to focus as the Ele continuously moved its head .
    Canon 5DMK III , Canon 500mm f4 ISII

All your C&C's are most welcome.

Great detail and smooth bokeh. All the variations of grey are perfect.

The only thing that I would change is a head angle parallel to the plain of the sensor or even toward the sensor. Related, the "tear" is de-emphasized in this angle.

Hi Haseeb - I added the (C) for captive to the thread title. With the elephant as dark as it is and the long eyelashes, I would expect the eye to be darker and feel that the lightening is too apparent. I recognize that you were at f10 but still wish for more dof or less oof forehead on the rhs. If it were mine I would reduce the blues and magenta.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Good to see you trying something a little different Haseeb, but do agree with David on the rear POV/HA, I take it you were fairly close here with the limited DOF @ f/10.
