Love the possessive/threatening pose here Rachel with good intensity in the eyes, understanding you have a busy dry croton thicket BG, but would have liked to see more of the intruder.

Thanks Marc. Problem of a fixed lens too
. With the zoom I could have backed off slightly to include more.

I like the intensity here, Rachel! No problem with the frame-filling composition.
Worth exploring a mono version that separates the lion and croton BG a bit more tonally?

Hi Rachel -- Seems you have plenty of great images from your trip ! Loved the expression , absolutely ferocious ! Yes a bit more inclusion of the other lion would have been even better but this also works for me . Excellent sharpness and details . I liked this one .

Rachel that is excellent, the image makes me feel as though I am very close to the lion. The detail is wonderful and if it is cropped I think it is just right... and if it wasn't well done anyway!

Thanks Morkel, Haseeb and Jon. I'm glad you like the intensity of this one. Morkel, I haven't tried a mono but might give it a go. Jon, only a slight crop from the right to remove some bright grasses.
Thanks again,
Rachel

A scene with real emotion, Rachel. An excellent viewpoint and I think is better for not having been able to zoom out - the lion on the left becomes an implied presence and all the more threatening for it.

Thanks Mike and Stu. Stu - I'm sure I could have gotten out of the vehicle, just doubt I would have made it back.
