lovely image Gail - the small drop of water on the end of the bill always adds

IMHO an image like this should never be ultra sharpe, especially with that dreamy bg and fg ........ I like the "softness" of the bright reds ... are they breeding at this time of the year?

I'm having to look up all the new birds that I am seeing via the US postings - although you say that it is common it seem to have a limited range

    spectacular bird

Gail interesting point raised by Bill(IMHO an image like this should never be ultra sharpe)I do like the stepping pose and the way the bg fades away,do wonder how it would look with the sky cropped, just a thought.Bird stands out beautifully.

Very good image Gail, love the low point of view and that it shows the habitat of this bird.
I also like the water droplets, the lifted foot and good control of the delicate pale plumage.
I also might be tempted to crop some or all of the sky out, as it takes my focus away from the beautiful Ibis.

Very nice frame Gail, there a lot to look at here.

The walking pose is always a favourite, and the water drops on the beak and foot are a nice touch. He's in a good environment with the grasses complementing him well, and IMHO the sky frames things off well.

Gorgeous light and nicely processed as ever.

This is beautiful Gail! I think the soft BG really makes this one special. The pose, POV, exposure and colors all look great too. Well done, considering it isn't a ballchinian

Gail, beautiful colors, environment, and BG.
I really like this, but I would like to see a pano crop to omit the sky/tree line.

I love the bright red breeding colours on the face! Great low angle and good walking pose. I have to admit that I would have preferred the green to extend all the way to the top of the frame, but apart from that this is about as nice a White Ibis image you could ask for!

Thank you all. I was on the fence about the sky and deliberately left it in to see what you guys thought. Did not want to influence your opinion.

It is a beautiful image. Great light which compliments the birds colors against the lovely green BG. The water drops from the beak and foot and the raised foot are a bonus. Agree that the sky is not adding to the composition.

What a sweet frame. Perfect pose, lovely light. The bird is in the perfect spot in this beautiful environment. I'm with those wishing for a pano crop. Hope your gear didn't get wet with this low POV.
