    I'm a Newbie and have just seen this section - maybe I should post here rather than in the Avian Section

    Reed Cormorant, (Microcarbo africanus)

    Wilderness - ZA - March 2016 - Reed Beds

    HH with the Nikon 300mm f2.8VR - D750 - 1/640th - f8 - ISO 400

    Cropped to 33% - adjustments in LR

    a juvenile

    I quite like the bokeh circle above the head??

    Hi Bill,
    Nice sharp image of this juvi cormorant, a little low in the frame and a few hot spots on the perch. Looks like you were dealing with some harsh light.
    Unfortunately the specular highlight you mentioned is a distraction, some people like them some don't.

    Looking forward to seeing more.
