    Default Cassin's Kingbird

    Attached Images Attached Images

Went out to my local spot for the first time in months to see what was going on. More raptors for this time of the year than I have seen in a while so it looks to be a good start to the season
My buddy Glenn and I saw this cooperative Cassin's Kingbird hunting insects so we set ourselves up for a flight shot. We were fortunate to have him fly thru the same focal plane as we were on, and we both got some nice sharp flight frames. That's usually not the case!!

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. I appreciate it.

Super BIF image with tack focus, fine feather detail, a clear eye. and BG works.

This is a Cassin's Kingbird, not a Western Kingbird. Nice shot of it in flight.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like it.

Terence, I think you're right. I always call these guys Westerns in my area and forget that we have both. I don't see the outer white tail feather of the westerns and the white chin stripe is another distingning feature of the Cassin's.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Super duper, and as Gail points out, even the HA is perfect. From the feet position I guess it had just jumped from a post or other perch?

Daniel, Yes he had just left a perch. I was going to mention that I cloned a bit of the perch but forgot to put it that on my info.
    Thanks

What else can we say. This is so beautifully detailed for a small bird in flight. The facial expression is to fall in love with. Love it

Hi Dave, tack sharp,m and love the overall detail on this fellow. What really puts this over the top is the light cast on that perfect HA. Gotta love the colour of the BG too.
