Hi folks i hope you missed my Seal shots .....
So here you go ... i come back with an extreme in terms of color and ISO , the color might be not everyone´s cuppa .
Tried to keep as possible to the original scene .... all was tinted in blue and a hint of pink .....very early winter morning with heavy clouds and partially blue sky with the sun tinting the sky in very low pink.
    Man it was dark ....
Nevertheless i wanted to work in the blue hour .

    Canon EOS 1 Dx
EF 200-400 IS L with TC engaged at 460 mm
    Tripod

    F 5,6 ; Iso 25.600 ; 1/ 800 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; cropped for comp , bottom is as shot , no more room sadly

Thanks for watching and commenting to previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas -- Definitely Steve's gonna love that iso setting ! Not sure how it will appear in a large print, IQ wise but at this size it looks great for a ISO 25600 image . I haven't seen something like this before so can't really give my opinion on the colours , does it really appears that blue ? What ever it is i liked the whole scene , but i would loved to have some more space at the bottom but you already let us know about no space in that area . Loved the whole blue scene .

    TFS !

Hi Andreas - Interesting experiment and good to see you trying it. Like with the BBC WPOTY with the blue elephants, not particularly my favorite. You did well at the high ISO. Agree that it's tight at the bottom.

A beautiful image Andreas! I liked the blue tone here depicting the cool climate, the detail and sharpness not bad at all for this high ISO. Glad to see you push it! A bit tight at the bottom but does not bother me very much.

Thank you Haseeb , Rachel and Sanjeev for you comments . Much appreciated .
With hindsight i would process this darker with deeper tone and color , as i feel it does not reflect the blue hour darkness in winter .
    Thanks again , Andreas

Andreas I don't mind the colour temp here, and like the low angle and complementary pose.
The seal does look a bit smooth in the detail department - did you apply NR globally here?
