    Hi All,

This is my first High key Image taken at Utah Lake State Park.

Big thanks to Artie for replying to my email about gear. I brought used Nikon 500mm f/4 and took this lens yesterday early morning. I was disappointed not to see much activity but finally say this beautiful great blue heron. This is my very first image with this lens ( with out focus adjustments ).

Though I did not like the sun angle (side lighting), I like the way this shot turned out to be.

Please let me know your thoughts and comments on the same.

    Nikon d500
    500mm f/4 with 1.4x Teleconverter
Manual Exposure, Evaluative Metering with 2 stops over exposed.
    ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/400 sec

    Post processing:-
Lightroom - Basic exposure changes and cleaning sensor dust
Photoshop + Neat Image - Noise Reduction

    Thanks
    Krishna

I like it Krishna. I like the comp, and how the bird looks 'cold'. The reflection certainly adds interest.

I like tis one a lot Krishna - so simple and different. It needs a little clockwise rotation, but other than that I find it very appealing.

The high-key effect is well executed. Weird perch and funky reflection, but it all works nonetheless. Did you take some verticals too?

    Hi Daniel,

Yeah I took some vertical crop images as well. I will post them shortly in this post.

    Thanks

    Hi Dan,

I looked at all the images I took that day and unfortunately by the time I decided to go for Vertical one, the lighting conditions changed. This is one such shot.

Superb image.Beautiful her on with beautiful colors and details.nice perch, nice reflection too. I like vertical, since there is to much of negative space in front of Heron.
