I had some productive time with a Dunlin and three Black-bellied Plovers the other day. Overcast, and at some point heavy rain - which, while lying flat on the wet beach and in shallow water, made me wet all the way around. Oh well, lots of fun, plus I had the place to myself !

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, eye work (including enhancing the catchlight), punched up the blacks and saturation to bring the (properly) washed out image to life.

Very nice Dan. With the underside of the wing showing, it allows more whites to blend with the BG The colours on the head area and bill stand out and draws immediate eye contact with the lovely eye on the bird.

    Well done

A nice addition to your collection of dreamy shots. The high key works well. With good sharp detail on the head, the motion blur on the wings is no problem.

Dreamy is the perfect word to describe the scene. Like the wing blur; it helps tell a story and also enhances the apparent sharpness of the rest of the bird.

Man you are good at these types of shots. Very nice picture. I like the pose and the wing blur. All very appealing as are the whites of the bird and background. I might be tempted to clone out the 2 small dots under the right side of the bird.
