    Hello everyone !

Thanks for your comments on my previous post .

Here is my first contribution to this months theme . An AB in full attitude in the plains of Mara . It was nearly 10:30 in the morning and so the sun was getting brighter every moment but the greener pastures during Nov makes one go after the image .

DPP 4 , CS6, Levels and selective colour , Cropped from LHS to eliminate another AB , cropped from bottom as well .

    5DMK III , 500mm f4 IS II , Bean Bag.

    ss: 1/3200, f/7.1, iso 1250.

All your C&C's are most welcome .

Hi Haseeb, looking good and I like your processing here, some lovely fine detail.

Great to see the comparison in habitat between you and Sanjeev's posting, looks like Duba, but I see it was the Mara. Love the raise leg and the plague of flies, also the blood stained ears and inquisitive look. Not sure if it looks a tad flat, might just be the MB Pro screen, I'm sure Andreas may have a thought?

Think you could have got away with 1/2000, but the image still looks good.

    TFS

Hi Haseeb - Nice to see a buffalo in the open with the green grass bg. Those flies look annoying. Good sharpness but I think the image needs a bit more depth and punch. I did about 30 seconds of adjustments giving it a curves adjustment to deepen the darks and midtones and then also added a couple of points of black to the neutrals in selective color. Here's a rp. WDYT?

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thank you Rachel and Steve !

Yes Rachel , this looks more appealing , and while processing I had a similar result but i thought it is loosing the finer details and hence went for a slight flatter version . So , i guess your RP has taken it in the right direction .

Haseeb, as I said, it does need a bit of a 'Tonal' push to create some more depth and Rachel's RP is better, but think where the light is coming from and so it may not be a straight forward adjustment, as you still need to retain the light.

HA ha Haseeb. Nice coincidence reg similar subjects! I like the open environs and the pose with raised leg, the flies and clean BG. Rachel has given that extra punch here to make it even better.

Hi Haseeb yes this is a buff in his prime , majestic animal that does look so powerful and you illustrated it very well with this image .
Interesting pose and the flies are adding to the scene , a nice addition to give some " movement " .
The crop works as presented , so do the colors , they become better and get some more depth with the missing tones ... ... as i also think the tones are a bit thin .
Nice clean shot with the BG nicely fading away ...
So Rachelīs RP does work quite well for me , Steve might be right with his thoughts regarding the adjustment , lets see if he post an example

A cracking good pose here from this daga boy Haseeb, loved the half raised leg with the grass horn adornmants and flies enhancing nicely.

Rachel's RP has addressed the light and flatter look.

The image itself is absolute class imo ! The buff is oozing attitude and your image captures that so well

This is one of the better buffalo images I've seen in a long time.
Rachel's repost addressed the flat look of the original, but I would add a hint more contrast to the buff.
