Firstly - these are two guys in the image.

As we had packed away our kit and 'yomped' back to the skiff, these two reindeer suddenly surfaced from the shoreline which was below the land and so it was rather a scramble for all of us to get some kit out of our bags, frame & shoot. Should have puled out the 200-400 for flexibility, but no time to think - kneeling down.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Steve, the 500 is such a great tool, always super sharp, for a close up. The 200-400 would give more flexibility of framing, but i like the patterns of the racks and the pose of the two reindeers here. they were walking in steps. Like to POV and the pattern on the FG. Loi

Hi Steve - Great low pov and it seems that they are aware you were all there. Great that they lifted their heads as these guys rarely seem to do so. The fact that they were on a ridge gives a nice bg including the water and good separation.

Excellent image Steve. Glad you pulled out your kit in time & got this. Love the synchrony here, the BG and FG. Nice body angle and walking pose. Would have loved more room in front but still not a deal breaker! Nicely seen and captured! TFS.

Lovely colours/tones here with the soft light and the soft-looking reindeer fur, Steve.
Good angle and symmetry as well. Not sure I'd have liked more space, seems there's enough for me.

Hi Steve -- Nice synchronized pose and great low POV ! Really lovely creature to see and photograph . I certainly would prefer more space all around but this one is also working for me . I thought would point out but it appears a bit soft to me , a round of sharpening will do i guess .

    TFS !

Hi Steve besides the fact i would have loved more room as yourself , this is technical stunning frame !!!!!
I can say that always ... normally about your images , but this is special for me .
Looking at the fine fur , just looking gorgeous , likewise the antlers ....lovely soft color and tones .
And the symmetry of them is just a nice bonus .

Ps from the technical POV this does look better than the Lioness , just a personal side note . The lioness does look more scruffy in the details
