The Ring-billed Gulls were diving for anything they could get their bills onto: mussels, twigs, pebbles, leaves, you name it. They are hard to resist photographing when they are up to their antics! I've said it a few times before, but always keep an eye out on what gulls are up to, many times great photo ops are to be had...
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp, an oof yellow buoy in immediate ULC cloned out.

Hi Dan, briliant timing, and I like the semi monochrome feel to the overall image. The central placement was the only way to go.

Not a nit pick, but you know if the Gull's right wing was exactly in the same position/shape as the left wing - this would have been a shot in a million.

Great timing on this one Daniel. I always like trying for this shot. I have sat for hours trying to get Terns, Pelicans and Bonaparte Gulls in this type of a pose. Great that we can see the eyes. You succeeded. Well done
