My first BIF reasonable result using my new 1DXII, not the best light though flying directly into the morning sun. Two of these birds flew past quite close and fast and I just had time to point and get two shots of one of them. The first was a wing upbeat with three AF points on the body and the subsequent shot was this one, the following down beat, but the AF didn't have time to keep up with the bird with the previous three points still active. Using AF Case 3, but still experimenting.

1DXII Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II plus 2x III. 400mm f6.3 1/2500 iso 500 pattern metering, full Area AF.

Superb flight shot, still going away. Beautiful wing position.

Cute duck with a nice downstroke of the wing. Not the best light angle. You id well with the panning, but the critical focus is on the ridge of the wing, leaving the head soft. That is a great camera, and with some experimenting and tweaking of settings to suit your style I'm sure you'll lots of great stuff!
