I'm not sure this is what Stu had in mind for the fine feather theme, but this guy gave me a smile as he posed for a close-in portrait, allowing some fine detail. From the top of Iceland's Latrabjarg cliff in July.

Awesome shot Bill. These have to be one of the most photogenic birds on earth. Beautiful bokeh.

Looks great to me Bill. A beautiful portrait with great feather details. Exposure is spot on. Whites look good and I like the varied background as well.

Excellent image Bill! I like the open beak, visible tongue, detail, HA, BG and composition. Looks like you had a very productive trip.

Simply a wonderful portrait, Bill. Like all the detail you captured, head turn, smiling, and that eye with intense concentration. Beautiful BG too.

Hi Bill, excellent IQ here, and I feel you have the overall exposure spot on. All the colours stand out very well, and the Puffin is nice and sharp too.

    This certainly fits the theme.

Fine portrait of a favourite bird, beautiful handling of blacks & whites complimented by the showy colours of bill, eye and tongue.
The smooth background ain't bad either.
