This image is taken quite recently at the Tadoba Tiger reserve. Fewer vehicles , greener settings and a beautiful forest to relish during monsoon.
At this time of the year the big cats especially the Tiger marks it territory quite frequently and in doing so they opt for the forest stretch time and again . I find the greens consisting of tall trees and a Tiger roaming amongst it quite a sight to witness .
Hi Haseeb, I still think your leaping Tiger is best, but all subjective, however it's always great to see a Tiger, keep then rolling out.
I have no issue with the road and I like the way it curves round to the right. I'm not sure that the crop works and that might be because its too 'elongated', but good to see an animal small in frame illustrating the habitat. I know you were pushing the ISO, but I might have gone to say 7.1 or 8, as f/5.6 is very shallow at that distance.
The bright tree trunk catches my eye a tad, but have you done any cloning around there? Not sure about the NR, is this working on Artie's table figures? I might be tempted to push a bit more the richness, I know it can look way off, but often the colours are very vibrant around that time having seen some of Dicky's. I think you could extract a bit more detail from the vegetation.
@ Steve -- I haven't done any cloning . Good point on the DOF field , i have sometimes struggled by opting shallow dof in such situations , will have to keep that in mind . There was some noise in the BG hence did a single round of NR on it . Vibrancy was near about quite similar to what i have pictured , your RP is more in line with the vibrancy though .
Hi Haseeb,
Lovely frame of the cat sitting small in the image .
I am fine with the crop / comp , works nicely for me .
Like the setting and the colors , i might give the image a bit more tonal depth ....and therefore will come a bit more vibrance in the colors .Just my thought .
Not sure about the NR ... does look a bit much in parts to me .
Regarding the DOF .... i think your f stop should be good enough at that distance .
I'm a big fan of the environmental type shots, and the lines own this one work for me Haseeb. I'm not sure if stopping down the aperture would have made a critical difference at this distance, for me the settings look about ideal, given you having to push the ISO.
I like this for all the reasons mentioned, Haseeb. Nice vibrant feel and the vertical framing works well with the road leading the eye in.
At this distance, I too feel f5.6 should be enough DOF. Steve's repost is better for me contrast wise.
Hi Haseeb, a very nice image showcasing our lush green forests and the ultimate predator fighting for survival. I like the frame, the pose and environment.
TFS.
