A Fleeting Moment

I spent last week traveling along the north shore of Lake Superior. This scene was captured in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park at the Marie Louise Lake Campground. In this scene, as the sun was rising behind me, it set the clouds above the "sleeping giant" a blaze for a mere 10 minutes before the light faded away. Ojibway legend describes the “giant” as Nanabijou, the spirit of deep water that turned to stone when the secret location of a rich silver mine in Silver Islet was revealed to white men. I will share two additional images from this morning over the next couple of days.

Wonderful. The perfect reflection demands the horizon be right in the center, as you've done. I love the cotton candy pinks.

Love the cotton candy clouds, really nice when the light plays along like this.
You made the most of the sky and its reflection, and the mountain holds interest. I do wonder if you were able to try a longer focal length (like 100mm) and perhaps vertorama them together for a different perspective?

Morkel...no I did not switch to a longer focal length for the vertorama but I do like that idea...the intensity of the light and cloud formation was changing rapidly.
