This Eagle landed closer than I expected. I had too much lens, filled the view finder and still cut off a wing but liked the intensity on the Eagles face. 1/1600, f/8, auto ISO-450, +0.3 step. 700mm with a 1.4III.

Bummer about the cut out wing as the pose is quite dynamic - almost cartoonish! The light angle did not do any favors either, but I suspect you did not have the liberty to place yourself more to your right. The far wing is nicely lit though, and although posted small, the details look sharp.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I could have fit the bird in the view finder so it was clip one wing or both and I don't mind it so much here but I agree about the exposure on the left wing. I worked on it and I am sure someone with more skill could do better but the angle was not not my friend. You are also right about no choice either. With a still you can move around a bit and recompose but with a BIF you do your best to be in position and then hope for the best. No recompose allowed.
