No Flash - so not much I could do with the shadow under the wings - did a little shadow recovery in P.S.

Eye selectively sharpened - another part bird in BG removed via QM.

Hey Lance, I didn't know gulls could be that good-looking :)

The image looks sharp to me and the composition is fine, too, if you ask me. I just wish the wing position were better. Probably the gull was just cruising ?

Great shot. Bird looks very nicely focus. You might get nit by the wing police.

Here comes the wing police !!!! :)

Lance you can do something about the shadow.... have the wings in the full up position !!!! Besides getting rid of the shadow will make the bird look much better. Photographing birds in this position is just like photographing pancakes sideways !!!!!

I like the bg and you sure found a beautiful bird !!!!

Very nice work on the eye Lance! I am more distracted by the very dark shadow or whatever on the water in front of the bird. I attempted to remove this dark area using a QM. I also attempted to lighten the underwing using a selective shadow/highlight. The primary tips are black, so they are black! but the other parts of the underwing did lighten. What do you think?

By the way, what is this species?

Hi Dan - nice work - the dark bit was probaly a branch in the water - I laos lightened under the wing a little with shadow/highlight.
I wasnt happy with the wing position - hence didn't put too much work into it - new the wing police would get me :)

    Nice repost.

Nice capture Lance. Good eye contact and great colors with sharp details...:D Agree with Mr. Al about the position of the wings and the shadow overcast as a result...but hey...good show anyway...:D
