    Saw this butterfly while walking around the neighborhood lake this morning.

    Nicely framed and really sharp. Exposure is very good though I would suggest lifting the darkest areas a little bit.

    Excellent capture Allen. BG is a bit busy, but a butterfly like this can take it.

    Interesting that you just found this specimen. Where I live in MN, this species is only present during June. Nice overall sharpness on your subject - and it stands out well from the background. I also like the even light and the diagonal comp. I would agree with Jon about the dark areas lacking detail. (If you use Nik Color Efex Pro 4, selective application of the Detail Extractor filter should do the trick. ) Very nicely done!

    Hi Allen, Nice shot !, lots of detail, we have one like this up on the Mesa in NM. "Two-tailed swallowtail butterfly", one of the only butterfly's I see up here. Thank you for sharing !
