    Hello everyone !

These Dholes are also endangered and hence makes it to this months theme . Taken this image at Kolsa part Tadoba Tiger Reserve . This pack was on the move in the buffer area of the park , hence took the liberty to get out of the vehicle and lying flat on the floor made this image . Had some goosebumps while lying down as the pack started the whistling noise they make to trap their victim . Got quickly back in the car after taking a couple of shots .

    DPP 4, CS6 , Levels, Selective colour, NR,sharpening , Cropped a bit from all sides .

    ss 1/4000, f/5.6, iso 1600 ,

    Canon 300mm f2.8 IS II , Canon 1D MKIV.

All your C&C's are most welcome.

Hi Haseeb - Great low pov. I am curious about the settings. Were you shooting something else and didn't adjust? I would have dropped both the ss and ISO. I also would have stopped down for a bit more dof to have more of the dholes in focus. In an ideal world and image, there would be some separation between the dholes allowing the viewer to see each head/face.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Rachel -- thank you for your comment . Yes I was shooting a tiger in the main tourism area prior to this and when I had this chance encounter I went on to capture the images without noticing the settings and to be frank i was not on BPN during that time and hence botched up the techs .

Love the low perspective here Haseeb, and totally agree with Rachel's comments, and yes, we've all been there re, camera settings.

Hi Haseeb. Wonderful low angle and DOF. I like the state of the Dhole and as mentioned, wish they were spaced just a bit apart. But still a wonderful image.

Nice low angle here, and quite an experience you had Haseeb.
Techs look fine for me, except perhaps on 1D4 the 1600 ISO might have been a tad high, other than that all good.
How much of a crop is this already? Can see it with a tad less below and on the RHS...

    Thank you Marc,Sanjeev and Morkel.

Morkel : yes definitely that ISO is high for the MK and as far as the crop that you are suggesting that can be achieved as there is some space at the bottom and as well as on the RHS.

A really captivating shot... those dogs have a real reputation - do you genuinely think they would have attacked given the opportunity?
Interesting point made by Rachel and I see what she is getting at, I do wonder however how much extra DOF would have been gained. On the other side of the coin I would say the shallow DOF nicely isolates the lead dog and the heads of the others are not visible. I reckon you will just have to go back and take another using various apertures!!

Thank you Jonathan ! As far as i have heard the experience of locals and the way they were charging towards me from all corners, I thought it is better not to take any chances . After all wild animals are quite unpredictable .

Hi Haseeb, nice to see you posting images again and not just adding feedback to the various threads.

Can only echo Rachel's observations, but you could have upped the DoF to say f/8 as you had plenty of SS and enough distance between subject and backdrop, so not much would change.

    Keep them coming.

    Steve
