Default Gold in Them Thar Hills

Eurasian Golden Plover, also called European Golden Plover (or in Iceland, just Golden Plover), catching late afternoon sun. BG is a shaded distant hillside. There's something about the lava rocks around Lake Myvatn in northern Iceland that seems to attract both lichen and birds. I thought the two came together well here, almost as if the Plover had shed some of his golden spangles onto the rock.

He sure blends in with the rock. It's hard to tell them apart.

Excellent image of beautiful bird. I like the perch with grass, lights and color scheme.
    Beautiful composition.

    Regards,
    Satish.
