Captured this image at one of our favorite locations on the edge of Lake Myvatn in Iceland this past July. I had planted myself as low as possible and watched as many shore birds were going about their morning rituals, including feeding the young. This beauty flew in and proceeded to sample the food bits on the waters edge, and the occasional flying insect. Wanted to show some of the habitat of basalt / lava rock and grasses, so I kept him small in the frame. C&C welcome.

Removed some distracting grass in cs6.

Hey Geoffrey, I like the small-in-the frame subject and its mossy rock perch. Pretty appealing habitat. If mine I'd crop from below to hide the dark rock in LLC, and then some at right to retain the ration (plus this places the small subject closer to a corner). It's good to go for some frames like this, nicely thought out.
I like it a lot. The bird is subtly separated from the rocks around it and the color of rocks is beautiful. I might like a slightly different crop but I would hate to loose the little white flowers.
