    Default Peek-A-Boo Puku

This young puku was sticking close to mom in South Luangwa National Park but I loved when it decided to look out from under mom. A little bit bigger crop than I would normally do (this is about 60% of ff) and a bit more centered but I didn't want the left edge to cut the animal in the bg.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Rachel, I like the little one peeping from under the parent, good choice of DOF and nice comp. Some clean up of the OOF FG stuff (pebbles/poop) could be done but not a deal breaker.

Hi Rachel -- Very adorable image ! I liked the centered comp with a nice low POV as well . IQ is still quite good inspite of the crop . I agree with Sanjeev regarding the FG a bit distracting in parts . Does it need that slightest bit of CW rotation or is it just an illusion ?

    TFS !

Thanks Sanjeev and Haseeb. As you know, if it was there and natural, it stays for me, no cloning. Haseeb, I think it is an illusion from the shape of the ground. I looked at it but thought the trees leaned too much then.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Works for me Rachel - I like the BG animals (2 impalas and an elephant, wonder who missed the pachyderm when viewing?)
Cute moment, foreground is really clean, not sure how people can find natural stuff lying there distracting if it's not obscuring your view of the main subject, but each has their taste eh :)

Thanks Morkel. I think there's actually another elephant further back on the rhs. It looks like a lump in front of the tree trunk.

    Dearest Rachel,

This is lovely:) The little chap is fantastic, he is the main focus of my attention and I like the inquisitive pose from him.

I like the characters in the BG, as well as those lovely trees. Nice placement of the subjects in the frame.
I would have prefered a cleaner FG but I understand it is not possible No CCW rotation needed, IMO.

Beautiful scene, very well captured and in stunning light too, great colours and detail, sharpness, nice DOF.

You must have had a stunning trip, my friend. I enjoyed viewing, very much. And I am planning to spend the whole evening viewing the latest threads here on BPN, as tonight I finally have a break from work:)

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

A wonderful moment and perfect timing here Rachel, peeking out under mum frames nicely, happy with FG....... not a concern as it's part of their surroundings.

The only detail I might consider tweaking is for a touch more red in the Puku, it looks a tad washed out for mine. Their thicker coats normally exihibit more red than their impala friends.

    TFS
