    I captured this image this spring at the rookery in the alligator breeding pond at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 230mm (345mm FFE)
    1/400 F/8 Matrix Metering -1 EV ISO 100 AWB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, cloned out a couple bright leaves in the lower right hand corner, fixed a shadow across to lower bill, darkened the shadow surrounding the bird
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    I would say, you nailed it. I really like the golden color, sharpness and details all around are very nice.

    I really like this one. Details are excellent on my screen. Bird almost seems sad to me and I like that about this image. I also really like the white of the bird against the dark background but the beautiful green on the face and yellow on the beak and eye really set this apart. Very well done.

    This is gorgeous.
    Beautiful IQ and perfect composition for my taste.
    I love a black BG and it just makes the bird pop.
    Beautiful light as well.

    Hi Eric, the lore is only that green during breeding, it also can be blue colored. Thank you for viewing and commenting.
